This course on hearsay teaches the trial attorney the theoretical and practical application of the hearsay rule in the courtroom.
The presentation begins with a brief discussion of relevancy issues as they relate to the introduction of statements as evidence in trial. It then moves on to the historical development of the hearsay rule which gives the attorney a better understanding of why we have the hearsay rule gives context to the law developed in the application of the rule. A detailed analysis of the hearsay rule follows supplemented by numerous case examples. The course concludes with a discussion of trial tips and tactics and practical advice for the trial attorney in introducing or opposing the introduction of statements in the trial courtroom.
